Charity marks Elliot's 10th birthday with 'buy a gift' campaign

Fri 26th January, 2024

Elliot's Touch has marked the birthday of Elliot Stevens with a buy a gift campaign.

January 26 2024 would have been Elliot’s 10th birthday; a whole decade since the day he was born.

In order to pay tribute to Elliot, the family decided to mark his birthday today by asking supporters to make a donation in memory of Elliot, and help to raise some funds to put towards the charity's various projects. The campaign has raised over £370 in one day.

"It is an incredibly hard day for us, but also a day we need to acknowledge and celebrate," said Paul Stevens. "We only got to spend one birthday with Elliot – and that was in Great Ormond Street Hospital on 26 January 2015. He was so desperately ill at the time, and had undergone several brutal operations already, but it was a precious day for us that we will never forget and he still managed to smile despite everything he had been through. On that day, and for a month afterwards, we continued to hope and pray that our gorgeous little boy would get better; but sadly we lost Elliot, at the age of just one year old, on 3 March 2015."

The family noted how Elliot should have been celebrating his birthday; eating cake and playing with friends, but were keen to mark it with something positive. "We are asking our friends, family and supporters to make a donation in Elliot’s name. A precious gift that will allow Elliot to continue giving to others as he always did."
